![]() I have been traveling around Australia with the Xshot and it has been an extremely handy and fun accessory. It is great for traveling since it packs up small and is fairly light. Every time I use the xshot a crowd of people gather to check it out. It’s a great conversation starter. I would highly recommend the Xshot to anyone that is looking for a way to take exciting and unique pictures. |

Amazing action shots: By climber22 from Santa Barbara, CA on 10/21/2008
I brought my new XShot along with me on a 4 day backpacking tip to 1000 Island Lake in Mammoth high country. We used the XShot to get some great group shots without needing an extra person to take the photo. No tripod required. Really easy to use and compacts nicely to fit in your pocket.

This is Great!, By Procker, Southern New Jersey – 11/18/2008
I bought this as a gift for a friend, she loves it and it’s so easy to use. We took photos with it all night at her birthday party. The price was so good… I might have to buy one for myself! LOL

This is the best product, everyone needs one of these. They are lot’s of fun at parties….EVERYONE can get in the shot, the camera man is never left out. No more “arms length” shots of you, now you can shoot different angles and depths. Thank you…XSHOT!

I LOVE MY XSHOT!!!!, By xshotmaniac, Los Angeles, Ca – 10/28/2008
The Xshot has not only changed the way I take pictures, it has given me the opportunity to make amazing video diaries. When I was traveling in Sweden last year I took some awesome video of me walking in different areas and narrating as I went. It gave me a chance to shoot my own moving video and be on camera at the same time, amazing! I have also done some really neat video as I’m riding my bike on the beach path.
I took a lot of pictures from the back of crowds. However, instead of getting mostly backs of people’s heads I extended my Xshot and took some great perspective shots. Here’s a sample of one I took at a rally for peace. I LOVE MY XSHOT!!!!

Solo Sailing Snapshots, By Captain3052 – 10/22/2008
Great for those moments when you can’t get anyone else to take your picture. Another friend of mine went paragliding and used it with a video camera while in the air. Epic footage.

Great idea and product!!, By Brody74, Summerland, CA – 10/24/2008
I’ve owned the Xshot for over a year now and have found it to be an AWESOME addition to my camera equipment!! I take it on hikes, road trips, family gathering and just keep it in the car for any occasion. I love taking video with it, it gives you that “steady cam” feel like a camera is following you. It’s so much fun!! For hiking when there is nobody around to catch a great shot w/ a waterfall in the background it is the BEST. Makes an excellent gift and stocking stuffer for the upcoming holiday season. Thanks for inventing the XShot. I love it!!!

very fun!, By IslandTripper – 10/22/2008
I bought it on a whim and have since taken some awesome shots with it. The most recent was on a wedding dance floor where it allowed for some shots from up high looking down on people dancing away…tons of fun! And on a trip to Peru it came in handy lots of times…
Great idea, great product, you’ll have more fun with it and find more uses for it than you might think!

I got one of these for our honeymoon in Argentina. It was absolutely awesome to have pictures of me and my wife together with out having to try and ask someone to take a picture of us. Also great for those moments when no one is around. Great product!

Works great for my point and shoot camera, June 16, 2011, by sandiego3day
I used this for the first time at Disneyland. I wish I’d gotten royalties for each time someone came up to me wondering what I was doing. Be prepared. Every time you use the x-shot, people are going to stare. Great for meeting and having conversations with others.

Perfect for snowboarding, June 6, 2011, by krolf
During our snowboarding trips, my friends and I often like to shoot video using a GoPro HD Hero. Unfortunately, we couldn’t always get a stable shot (super shaky, bad angle, etc.). That’s now a problem of the past, as the XShot suits all of my needs and then some. It contracts and expands with ease, and has a solid construction to sustain those brutal falls that tend to happen from time to time (unlike many other models that are made from plastic). I would definitely recommend this to a friend.

XShot Camera Extender, December 30, 2010, by Robert A. Matteucci
Amazon Verified Purchase
This review is from: XShot Camera Extender – Black (XS2379) (Electronics)
Great item. Gave one each to my son, daughter and wife for Christmas. No longer will they not be in the picture or will I see an arm in the picture. Wish I had it at Mount Rushmore where we had to ask a stranger to take our picture and the person did not push the button down enough to take the picture. We found out after they left that the picture wasn’t taken. We had to ask someone else to take it. With the XShot it would have been a breeze to take a picture. Small enough to carry in any bag or coat pocket. It could even be used to take a picture above the crowd, over a wall or around a corner. Great addition to the fully automatic Canon SD1100 camera I got on Amazon a few years back. Inexpensive enough to give one to every member of the family or keep in the family car. Good quality construction

“I hardly write reviews but thought I should with this one since we’ve recommended this to a bunch of our friends & family now. So I bought the Xshot recently for our Seattle wedding weekend and Maui honeymoon. It was a total HIT! Sure some folks laughed every time I whipped it out (the monopod of course!) but then they would say how clever it was and asked where we go it (which was here from Amazon). Yes, you do look very nerdy carrying this thing around but don’t worry what other people think! You’ll thank yourself when you get home and can see all of you in the same shot! BTW, trust me you will get noticed with this one. We’ve had quite a few folks randomly walk up to us and check it out…so it’s also a great way to meet new people! =)
The Xshot held up pretty well when mounting either one of our point-and-shoot cameras (Canon 1100IS and Casio Exilim). I especially liked the ability to extend our camera over crowds to get a shot at the center of attention. It does take a couple practice shot to get the angles and timing right, but once you get the hang of it you’ll enjoy new picture taking perspectives and wonder why you never got this before! This monopod especially came in handy while on our honeymoon when it was just the two us around. Thanks to this we avoided those awkward close-up self portrait shots. Overall, this is a very helpful and durable product that does its job well.”

Handy gadget By MsChief – 6/20/2008
“I bought this for an upcoming trip. I was surprised at how light, yet sturdy this is. It’s very easy to use – attach the camera (I think a 45 degree angle is perfect), extend the handle, click the timer, then put it in front of you. You can tell if you’re centered because you should be looking directly down the center of the lens. This would be perfect if there were an connection at the bottom of the handle to attach it to a tripod or stand. The longer handle means that you aren’t going to look like you’re holding the camera on a stick in your pictures. The bottle cap tripod is kind of funny, but I can see it coming in handy at dinner. Very handy if you’re never in your own pictures or worried about people stealing your camera.”

Must Have for Anyone w/ a Lite Digital Camera By Albert (Maryland) – 5/ 26/2008
“I chose the Xshot over the other brand that was made of plastic. It has worked flawlessly, but it does take some practice to work with it. Overall, it is ideal when you as the photographer want to be in more shots. I had many people asking about it and where they could get it. I am surprised not to see more people with this as it is definitely a must have for your camera. It is light and portable, and the set up, with a little practice, it fast and efficient. It is constructed well (not plastic), and hopefully should last awhile. The pictures I took came out great, and I was happy to be in more shots!”

Excellent Buy, By Brian J (Somerset, NJ United States) – 1/30/2008
“It is strong, well produced item, and it allowed us to take incredible shots on our own. It take some getting used to for aiming, and adjusting your shot, but after a few pics you will get the hang of it and it will be one of the best purchases you will have made.
It easily stored in my jacket pocket, and I removed the camera ever time I put it back in my pocket. So when we would setup for a shot, pulled it out, connected it in a matter of seconds, and we were off.”

Xshot makes self-portrait taking a cinch! By Tracy K “tracybebe” – 12/28/2007
My fiancée and I travel every other month to places far and near. Very often, we find ourselves in front of the Trevi Fountain, Haleakala summit, or Eiffel Tower wondering, “Who should we ask to take our picture?” The XShot makes self picture taking so easy, but be warned, you will attract attention. I can’t begin to count how many times I’ve heard whispers of, “Ask her where she got it” or “That is so cool!” It is so simple to learn, you don’t need an instruction manual. It takes great pictures and works with any camera that has the tripod screw insert below. The only drawback I can think of is its inability to take vertical pictures, unless I haven’t figured out how to do that yet. I love my XShot and will take it with me on every trip. 5 STARS!

Fantastic!, By J. Mueller (Atlanta, GA) – 12/21/2007
“This was the second handheld monopod I purchased. The first was $10 more expensive and made of very cheap plastic. The plastic cracked the first time I used it. I threw away the plastic monopod and picked up the Xshot – I love it! It’s made of steel and extremely sturdy.
While it is a little awkward to take pictures of yourself with a camera on a stick, it still got the job done during a recent trip to Disney. I was even pulled aside three times by people asking where they could buy one.”

Super Shaft!, By Craig The Postman from Warwick, RI:1/14/2009
“The XShot shaft is a great tool to have on hand. You can take great photos of yourself and friends or shoot a concert over the crowd with remarkable results! Super on vacation when no one is available to snap a shot for you on a mountain top or remote beach. Uses are endless…get one if your going on vacation it will be invaluable!”
