I can’t remember how I first discovered the XShot monopod, but as soon as I saw it, I knew I had to have one.

It may be an odd thing to say, but I feel empowered with the XShot – I have the freedom to take self portraits and know that they are going to turn out well.
Plus, with digital images, I can take lots of shots and immediately see the results.

We get lots of looks and laughs as we set up our shot and invariably someone will ask if they can take the photo for us.
We politely decline because it’s just too much fun to do it ourselves.
Finally, as a tour leader, the XShot is also super handy. No more awkwardness when one person doesn’t get to be in the picture because they are assigned to take the photo!
My travels in 2010 will take me to Vietnam, Cambodia, Bhutan and India – all places where I will be leading women-only and co-ed tours – and hopefully to Japan and Papua New Guinea for vacation and research.
You can bet that the XShot will be with me on every trip!
