Peter Shankman wears so many hats that it is hard to know where to start. I can start by saying that he is a great guy, very easy to reach despite his busy life and fame… Peter is the founder and CEO of The Geek Factory, Inc., a boutique Marketing and PR Strategy firm located in New York City. His blog, which he launched in 2002, (www.shankman.com) both comments on and generates news and conversation.
Most recently, Peter launched HARO, Help A Reporter Out, which connects journalists with the sources they require using a social media platform.
I have to say that it is a really fantastic and free resource for journalists and sources.
We got in contact with him in February through our dear friend Heather (@HeatherinBC).
Peter just wrote a great post “The Tools of My Travel Trade”, about how to cope with Business Travel and how to make the most of your time. Among the precious tools he takes with him, is our XShot 2.0…
“These tools have saved me countless, countless times. I travel light, so if it’s in my bag, I need it on a regular basis on the road. Finally – I figured out I have no less than four cameras on me at any time. My Blackberry Bold, my LG 8350, (both phones) my Flip HD, and a Casio Exilim. I’ve also become a huge fan of the XShot, a little one-handed monopod that lets me photograph/video myself without it looking like it’s just my chin filling up the frame.”
